Model 2
After the successful release of the Model 1, I wanted to offer something a
bit more traditional and easier to understand for people outside of the
knife community. I designed the Model 1 intentionally polarizing, knowing
full well that some people will love it due to it being so unusual, but others
will hate it for the very same reason. The last thing I wanted to happen
was to release a watch design that was bland and evoked no emotions at all.
With the Model 2, I decided to tone the design down a bit, and offer
something based on my favorite style of watches, vintage diver. The dial is
very similar to the Model 1, but I added a minute track, date window and
much larger applied indices with more lume, it’s a diver after all!
The shape of the case is based on some 60’s and 70’s divers, though I
modified it a bit with large chamfers on top and bottom to allow easy
access to the unidirectional 120-click rotating bezel. The bezel has a
ceramic insert and all markings are filled with Swiss Superluminova.
The strap is of my own design, which complements this watch well I think.
